Location: Carlstadt, NJ

Shift: 6:30am-3:00pm (Monday-Friday)

Pay: $28-$32/hour; Overtime: $42-$48/hour

Job Description

The Receiving Supervisor oversees all receiving operations, ensures inventory accuracy, and leads warehouse personnel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This hands-on role requires active involvement in daily receiving, material movement, and inventory control activities while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, lead, and direct receiving personnel to ensure efficient and accurate completion of daily tasks.
• Oversee all receiving operations, including inbound deliveries, unloading activities, and verification of incoming materials.
• Ensure accurate inventory transactions, counts, and reporting to maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.
• Maintain organized warehouse storage and effective material flow to support production and shipping needs.
• Monitor forklift and truck usage, including mileage, tire condition, maintenance schedules, and operator compliance with safety and operational procedures.
• Coordinate and schedule inbound deliveries to minimize delays and optimize dock and warehouse utilization.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely and thorough manner.
• Enforce safety procedures and ensure that all equipment inspections and checks are completed and documented as required.
• Provide timely reports on inventory status, equipment condition, and receiving performance to support operational decision-making.
• Act as a hands-on leader by actively participating in daily receiving, material handling, and inventory control activities.
• Hold team members accountable for performance, safety, and adherence to established processes and standards.
• Collaborate with logistics, production, and shipping teams to ensure accurate work orders, shipping documentation, and inventory processes are followed.

Essential Skills

• Experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics supervision (prior supervisory experience preferred).
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain an orderly and efficient warehouse environment.
• Effective communication skills to direct personnel, coordinate with other departments, and provide clear reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience with work orders, shipping documentation, and inventory processes.
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to lead by example and drive accountability.
• Basic computer and reporting skills (preferred) for managing inventory and operational data.
• Forklift experience (preferred) and mechanical awareness related to material handling equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain inventory accuracy and oversee inventory control activities.
• Strong supervisory skills, including coaching, performance oversight, and team coordination.

• Organized and detail-oriented approach to managing receiving and inventory activities.
• Mechanically aware and attentive to equipment condition and maintenance needs.
• Ability to enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with operational standards.
• Experience with inventory management, inventory control, and warehouse management systems or ERP systems.
• Proficiency in data entry related to inventory, receiving, and shipping records.
• Background in logistics, shipping and receiving, and material handling.
• Capability to thrive in a unionized environment while fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Comfort working in a hands-on role that requires regular physical presence on the warehouse floor.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlstadt, NJ.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
