Adjunct Nursing Clinical Instructor – Operations at Mountain Empire Community College, Wise County, VA. The role involves teaching Clinical Nursing in a hospital environment, providing instruction to students during day, evening, and weekend shifts. Duties and Tasks Teach specific courses in a classroom, virtual, or clinical setting to students of diverse academic backgrounds. Develop course syllabi and instructional materials, delivering high‑quality instruction, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, and actively contributing to the college’s academic, professional, and community life. Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress. Adhere to MECC policies, procedures, and regulations while emphasizing instructional excellence through innovative teaching practices, curriculum development, and assessment. Maintain current competence in the field of specialization and commit to continuous professional growth aligned with the college’s mission and goals. Essential Functions Provide quality instruction, meet assigned classes regularly, submit required records and reports, teach the prescribed courses with the established texts, and adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with college policies. KSA’s / Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with demonstrated competency in the teaching field for the RN program; associate’s degree with competency for the LPN program. Current license or multi‑state licensure privilege to practice nursing in Virginia as a registered nurse. At least two years of direct client care experience as a registered nurse. Documentation of professional competence through activities such as nursing practice, education programs, and conferences. Meet licensure requirements for the specialty in which the clinical practice occurs. Additional Considerations Teaching experience at the college level, experience with online learning, strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability to incorporate technology into instruction, and ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
