Human Resources Generalist IThe Human Resources Generalist I fosters a healthy, productive workplace by partnering closely with managers and employees across all business units. Supports the full employee lifecycle by handling a wide range of human resources functions. Creates a positive workplace through effective conflict resolution, employee engagement, and compliance with HR policies.What you will do:Monitor HR queue and answer general questions for all areas of HR while escalating inquiries to others as needed.Serve as a resource to management and employees to resolve employee relations concerns and provide guidance regarding policy questions, disciplinary actions, investigations and terms.Assist with employee terminations and exit interviews when needed, as well as attend unemployment hearings and respond to claims.Assist with preparing and recommending staff communication, newsletter articles, and HR-related policies, procedures and programs.Lead or assist with all aspects of the employee recognition programs, engagement initiatives, as well as assisting with employee relation programs and events.Other Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelor's Degree Human Resources and minimum 2 years HR experience or related preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.Heartland Bank and Trust Company is headquartered in Bloomington, Illinois.
