Senior Accountant

Location: San Antonio, TX | Near Downtown Employment Type: Contract Duration: Approximately 6 months | October–April Work Arrangement: On-site preferred with some flexibility for the right candidate Core6 Talent is partnering with a growing San Antonio organization to hire an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounting Consultant for an approximately 6-month contract engagement. This individual will provide accounting support and coverage for a key member of the team during an upcoming leave. The ideal candidate will start in early October, allowing time to train with the existing team and participate in one to two month-end closes prior to the leave. This is a great opportunity for an experienced accountant looking for meaningful project work, flexibility, and exposure to a broader portfolio of companies and investments throughout San Antonio. Responsibilities Participate in the month-end and year-end close processes Prepare balance sheet and bank reconciliations Prepare and post journal entries Research, interpret, and apply GAAP guidance as needed Support accounting and financial reporting across multiple entities Perform accounts receivable functions, including: Invoice management and billing Cash receipts and credit card payments Payment application Aging reports Perform accounts payable functions, including: Expense report processing Electronic invoice workflows Maintain vendor documentation, including W-9s and certificates of insurance Verify appropriate approvals for vendor invoices, purchase orders, and check requests Support the organization's internal control environment Assist with year-end tax processes Document accounting processes and procedures Provide additional accounting support as business needs evolve Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required 2+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP Ability to research accounting guidance and apply accounting principles to transactions and business situations Experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations Experience working within an ERP/accounting system Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a broader accounting team Preferred Qualifications CPA or CPA candidate Public accounting experience Experience supporting multiple entities Prior contract, consulting, or project-based accounting experience Why Consider This Opportunity?
