Medical Assistant IIWe are seeking a Medical Assistant II to provide both clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced outpatient healthcare setting. As the first point of contact for patients, this role plays a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care, supporting physicians and nurses, and ensuring a positive patient experience. The ideal candidate has hands-on clinical experience, strong phlebotomy skills, and experience working with the Athenahealth (Athena) EMR system.Clinical SupportGreet and prepare patients for examinations and medical appointmentsObtain and document patient histories, symptoms, and health informationAccurately enter patient information into the Athena EMR systemMeasure and record vital signsAdminister injections and medications as permitted by certification and state regulationsPerform diagnostic testing and screeningsCollect specimens and perform blood draws/phlebotomy proceduresPrepare and maintain examination roomsSterilize and clean medical equipmentCollaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to support quality patient careAdministrative SupportMaintain accurate patient records and documentationAssist with scheduling, patient flow, and clinic operationsUtilize Microsoft Outlook and other office applications to support daily activitiesEnsure compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and patient privacy standardsDeliver exceptional customer service to patients and familiesRequired QualificationsExperience with Athenahealth (Athena) EMRMust be proficient in blood draws/phlebotomy1-3 years of Medical Assistant experience in a back-office direct patient care environmentActive Medical Assistant certification or applicable state licensure (RMA/CMA)Current CPR certificationLess than 2 years of professional leadership experienceExperience working in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environmentProficiency with Microsoft Outlook and basic computer applicationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively within a healthcare teamAbility to successfully complete required Tuberculosis (TB) screeningPassion for delivering outstanding patient care and improving patient experiencesPreferred QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentBilingual communication skillsHands-on professional phlebotomy experienceExperience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)Experience with HEDIS measures and quality programsActive Medical Assistant Certification or Registration through:American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)National Healthcareer Association (NHA)American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)American Medical Technologists (AMT)Active ARRT (Radiologic Technologist) certification/license
