CNC Mechatronics Service Specialist

Your mission Keep advanced CNC assets healthy and productive by combining hands‑on craftsmanship with data‑driven insight and continuous improvement. How you’ll make impact Own expert break‑fix and PM work across mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Design and implement equipment enhancements. Program, debug, and optimize CNC/automation controls to eliminate software, hardware, and configuration issues. Run predictive diagnostics—infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing, power quality analysis, laser interferometry, ball bar, vibration analysis—and translate results into proactive maintenance plans. Lead CI efforts to improve processes, document results, and capture cost savings with established methodologies. Source parts and consumables; specify alternative or engineered solutions that boost uptime and reliability. Perform to industry standards with minimal oversight; uphold 5S and excellent housekeeping. Set up and operate shop equipment (lathe, drill press, grinder) to fabricate/repair components; perform welding as needed. Research emerging methods, tools, and innovations; standardize and share improvements across ATS and update documentation. Contribute technical input to cost analyses for new equipment, repair/rebuild proposals, savings, and innovations. Maintain detailed CMMS histories; analyze trends for data‑informed decision‑making. Provide technical content for sales quotations and handle time‑and‑materials assignments. Coach less experienced technicians and step into project management assignments when asked. Advance your career with on‑the‑job learning and structured self‑study; prioritize safety, follow all policies, and actively correct unsafe conditions. What you’ll bring High school diploma or GED. Associate’s degree (technical) with 7+ years of relevant industry experience, or 10+ years in the specific industry. Expertise with predictive technologies (vibration analysis, laser interferometer), precision alignment, and CNC/process equipment maintenance. Ability to interpret and repair electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems—analyze issues, generate options, and execute fixes. Skilled with hand and specialized tools; willingness to travel as needed. Six Sigma exposure preferred. Work setting & physical demands Frequent standing/walking; hands‑on work requiring reaching and fine motor skills. Climb ladders/lifts and balance at heights; enter confined spaces to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasional sitting; occasional lifts/moves of 50+ lbs. Regular need for close and color vision. Occasional exposure to weather and risk of electrical shock. Loud factory environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials and greasy/slippery floors.
