MEASUREMENT TECHNICIAN APPRENTICE: $20.33 PER HOUR / $42,286.40 YEARLY

MEASUREMENT TECHNICIAN I: $22.94 PER HOUR / $47,715.20 YEARLY

MEASUREMENT TECHNICIAN II: $27.52 PER HOUR / $57,241.60 YEARLY

MEASUREMENT TECHNICIAN, SENIOR: $31.07 PER HOUR / $64,625.60 YEARLY

JOB SUMMARY:This is an entry-level trainingpositionwith direct Supervision. This position will learn from on-the-job training and classroominstruction in the processes toassist in the support of the SCADA system;toinspect, repair, prove,calibrate and adjust meters and regulators;assist with large meter sets; assist in the installation offlow computers, volume correctors, RTU s, pressure monitors and SCADA control systems.

Incumbent has 18 months toaccomplishtraining milestones required of this position to include all Operator Qualification requirements. Failure to do so could affect employment.

Incumbents in this position will be held to the Districts Gold Standard for Customer Service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

THIS IS A TRAINING POSITION. TRAINING MILESTONES MUST BE MET BEFORE CONSIDERED QUALIFIED FOR THE NEXT POSITION.

1. Train toassistin monitoring,calibratingand downloadingdata fromflow computers, volume correctors, RTUs, pressuremonitorsand SCADAmeasurement equipment.
2. Train toassistin responding to SCADA alerts and troubleshootingRTUs.
3. Train to prove, calibrate, and adjustmeters.
4. Train toperform pressure testutilizingdigitalandmechanicalcharts.
5. Train toBuilds, inspects, andmaintainslarge-volume meter sets, high-pressure sets, and regulator stations.
6. Train tomonitorodorant levelsandassistsadjustinginjection rates.
7. Train to respond to leak calls andperformsmeasurement checks.
8. Assistin buildingmeter setsand meter bars,as needed.
9. Assistswith large meter sets.
10. Inspects District vaults.
11. Repairs and cleans meters.
12. Maintains tools and equipment in prescribed manner.
13. Maintains control of inventory items obtained from stock or carriedon truck.
14. Must be able to safely and responsiblyoperatethe automotive vehicle assigned. Mustmaintainassigned vehicle throughappropriate operatormaintenance and bykeepingsaid vehicle clean and neat at all times.
15. Othermiscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma andtwotofouryearsdirectly relatedexperience.

Two years of college (Associates Degree).

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:

1. Capability to read, understand and followinstructions and directives, including Districts O&M directions, local, state and/or federal regulations or policies
2. Solid math skills arerequired.Legible,understandablehandwriting ability.Competency to read,comprehendand/or interpret and accurately forward detailed verbal and numeric information.
3. Maintain a regular, dependable attendance anda high levelof performance.
4. Ability to understand andcomply withall safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment;
5. Must be able to work with a team, takedirectionfrom supervisor(s), keep required work schedules, prioritize work schedule, focus on attention to details, and follow safety and work procedures.
6. Thispositionrequires knowledge and task evaluation asdeterminedby Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration ruleCFR 49, Part 192; Subpart N:Operator Qualifications(OQ).

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

1. Mustpossessand maintain valid Florida drivers license and a driving record satisfactory to theDistrictand its insurers.
2. Skills tooperatepower tools and small lawn maintenance equipment.
3. Capability to read, interpret and organize equipment andassociatedpaperwork in a logically prescribed manner.
4. Ability to perform basic mechanical work associated with natural gas facilities and pipelines
5. With supervision, incumbent willassistin theinstallation, operation, calibration, testingand repairofnatural gas measurementand regulation equipment throughout theDistrict.

OTHER FACTORS:

1. Must be appropriately dressed in a clean and neat District authorized uniform during work hours.
2. Physical Effort:Requires bending, stooping, crawling,climbingand moderate lifting. Must be capable of working from ladders and elevated areas.
3. Working Conditions and Hazards:Works inside and outside. Exposed to rain and seasonal weather extremes. Exposed to fires, toxic fumes, electrical shocks from high voltage, and dog bites. Must be able to work with power tools and other hazardous equipment.
4. DRUG TESTING FOR ILLEGAL DRUGS:Employees in this classification will be subject to undergo testing for illegal drugsin accordance withDOT Pipeline Safety Regulations, Code of Federal Regulation, Title 40 (49 CFR), Part 199.
