Role Description The Nurse Midwife is a full-time, on-site role located in St. Marys, GA, providing comprehensive, evidence-based care to patients across the maternity continuum. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting prenatal and postnatal assessments, managing labor and delivery, and providing gynecologic and reproductive health services within the nurse midwife scope of practice. The role involves developing individualized care plans, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, and ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines and health system policies. The Nurse Midwife also educates patients and families on pregnancy, childbirth, family planning, and newborn care, while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting quality and safety initiatives. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Midwifery and Maternity care, including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum services. Strong Nursing foundation with current RN license and advanced practice training in nurse midwifery. Knowledge of Medicine as it applies to obstetric, gynecologic, and reproductive health, including collaborative care with physicians. Experience in Family Planning counseling and services, including contraceptive options and reproductive life planning. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Midwife program; national certification (e.g., CNM) and eligibility for Georgia APRN licensure. Current BLS (and preferably NRP) certification, with familiarity in obstetric emergency management. Strong communication, patient education, and cultural competency skills, with the ability to support diverse patient populations. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, prioritize patient safety, and contribute to quality improvement efforts. #J-18808-Ljbffr Southeast Georgia Health System
