Compensation: $80,000 to $100,000 depending on experience and education

About the Role
A fast-growing, food processing facility on Chicago's south side is looking for a hands-on Production Supervisor to help lead daily plant operations under the Plant Manager. This is a player-coach role. You will be on the floor working alongside your team, not managing from an office. The facility is doubling its capacity, and building the team it needs to get there. If you are a practical operations leader who enjoys developing people, solving real problems, and improving how a plant runs day to day, this is worth a serious look.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily receiving, processing, material handling, and production operations across the facility
• Lead and develop a team of operators and laborers through hands-on coaching, training, and performance management
• Run 1st shift startup meetings focused on safety and daily operational priorities
• Ensure proper operation of processing equipment including forklifts, pumps, mixers, conveyors, and related systems
• Monitor and execute daily feed planning and production schedules
• Coordinate with the maintenance team to minimize downtime and support timely repairs
• Conduct routine safety inspections and audits and enforce OSHA and company safety standards
• Investigate incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions
• Complete daily shift logs, operational reports, and performance tracking
• Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities across the operation

Requirements

• High school diploma required
• AAS/BS/BA in Operations Management, Business, or a related field or an equivalent hands-on manufacturing leadership experience is required
• 2+ years of food manufacturing leadership experience in industrial operations, manufacturing, or processing plant environments including experience leading teams or shift operations
• Hands-on player-coach mentality with strong leadership and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a physical, industrial environment with odors, heat, and no air conditioning
• Experience with safety programs and OSHA compliance required; OSHA 30 certification is a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic reporting tools
