Job Summary The Building Maintenance II is responsible for the upkeep of various systems and components, including general building operations such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting, as well as tasks specific to all aspects of the hotel (guest rooms, public areas, back of the house). The role ensures a memorable guest experience. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems. Read and comprehend test equipment, measuring devices, and safety manuals; interpret technical parts breakdown. Perform maintenance activities in guest rooms—unclog toilets and drains, repair hardware, and maintain electrical equipment including lamps and AC/HVAC ducts. Help maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed, and perform general housekeeping duties. Perform maintenance in all guest rooms, common areas, and BOH (back of the house)—unclog toilets and drains, program televisions, repair hardware, plumbing, and electrical equipment (AC/HVAC ducts), check parking lots, sidewalks, walkways, and cosmetic items. Monitor fire alarm/life safety system, be fully informed of its operation, and handle emergencies involving the systems. Display a high level of professional integrity and ethical conduct. Maintain calmness and composure under high levels of pressure. Adapt to frequent change, fast‑paced environment, delays, or unexpected events. Demonstrate strong leadership, supervisory, organizational, and communication skills. Be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems, exercising good judgment. Requirements Not high school education or 2‑3 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior hotel or commercial property experience preferred. High‑volume/fast‑paced environment experience preferred. Proficient in English—verbal and written. Must have flexible work availability— all shifts, weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations HVAC is a plus. Carpentry is a plus. Electrical is a plus. Plumbing is a plus. Physical Requirements Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
