CDL Sanitation Truck Driver / Loader
We are hiring a CDL Sanitation Truck Driver / Loader to join a 23 person waste collection crew. This position is responsible for operating a garbage truck on assigned routes, collecting waste, and transporting it safely to disposal sites. The ideal candidate will have commercial driving experience, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Pay: $24.00 per hour
Responsibilities
- Operate a garbage truck on assigned routes
- Collect, load, and transport waste to designated disposal sites
- Tag bulk items for scheduled pickup
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain cleanliness and perform basic preventive maintenance on trucks
- Follow traffic laws, safety procedures, and waste disposal regulations
- Provide courteous interaction with residents and the public
- Work as part of a 23 person crew
- Respond to emergency situations if needed
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Current DOT Medical Card
- 2+ years of commercial driving experience within the last 5 years
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and climb during routes
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Must wear steel-toed boots
