Job Title: Travel RN - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care PCU experience License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Candidates must have current acute care experience in a PCU setting. Description: This is a travel RN position in a progressive care unit. The unit typically has 345 beds and is recognized with multiple designations. The staff includes daytime RNs and CNAs as well as night shift RNs and CNAs. Patient ratios are generally 1:5 during both day and night shifts and can vary between units. The type of equipment used includes various EMRs and Meditech. Candidates are preferred to have Meditech experience and chemotherapy certification. The unit serves a large cardiac population, with opportunities to float to various inpatient units. The ideal candidates will demonstrate flexibility, a willingness to float, and strong teamwork skills. Candidates will gain valuable experience caring for patients with a range of acute and chronic medical issues. Team collaboration and compassion are key traits for success in this role. Unit guidelines and policies vary slightly but are aimed at fostering teamwork and mutual support.
