What you will be doing: In this role, you will be part of the statewide Public Assistance Eligibility Team. Together, we will help Alaskan families, the elderly, and other individuals in need reach higher levels of independence and self-sufficiency by connecting them with the public assistance programs our agency offers. The working environment you can expect: This position joins a statewide eligibility workflow team in local Public Assistance offices. This position is currently located in Kenai. The position may be in Kenai or Kodiak, depending upon the location of the most qualified candidate. The Kenai office is located at 11312 Kenai Spur Highway, Suite 200, Kenai, AK 99611. OR The Kodiak office is located at 211 Mission Road, Suite 101, Kodiak, AK 99615. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgement to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Minimum Qualifications: One year of entry level experience as an Eligibility Technician 1 with the State of Alaska; OR One year performing similar work that developed knowledge and skills in applying program requirements and working with client customers in stressful situations. Substitution: Post-secondary education in such fields as sociology, social work, psychology, counseling, human services, vocational rehabilitation, developmental disabilities, behavioral sciences, business, public administration, or accounting may substitute for the required experience (undergraduate credits: 2.67 semester/4 quarter hours = 1 month).
