Responsibilities

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an exciting position in our sunny Scottsdale, Arizona location. The Restricted Ground suite of programs is seeking a Deputy Program Manager Engineering (DPME). The DPME will lead and manage the execution for a team and team of teams for multiple task orders.  In this role you’ll plan, authorize and monitor engineering work by managing a team of top talent. You’ll ensure that the total system is integrated, tested and verified while keeping your team motivated and focused on project goals. • Supervise and manage lower level employees
• Lead regular communication with project customer, supplier(s), project team, and internal management
• Deal regularly with support functions outside of project assignment
• Serve as consultant to senior management and customers on long-range company planning
• Effectively choose the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of technical engineering products
• Leads medium to large proposals with identification of cross business unit strengths and technical shortcoming
• Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments
• Guides the successful completion of major programs and projects
• Can facilitate and coach across multiple teams
• Solid grasp on how to scale Lean and Agile practices
• Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
