Specialty Nurse Case Manager

Nurse Case Manager – Specialty Area (Disability & Psychiatry) Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assess disability status, make recommendations, and identify appropriate resources. Gather and coordinate medical evidence for evaluation of functionality. Make assessments on restrictions and limitations; assign length of disability. Consult on case management issues within the specialty area and apply effective interventions. Collaborate with medical and other providers to ensure appropriate treatment and return to work. Facilitate job modifications and educate involved parties on claims process and functionality related to job requirements. Address causality and refer to appropriate medical expertise. Document activities according to jurisdictional, departmental, and accreditation requirements. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Strong knowledge of case management, specialty area, medical terminology, conditions, and insurance industry. Ability to exercise professional judgment and assume responsibility for decisions that impact people, costs, and quality of service. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; able to convey technical issues clearly and concisely. Strong interpersonal skills; effective interaction with internal and external business partners. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills; able to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software. Ability to work independently. Education and Experience RN with BSN preferred. Eligible to sit for national case management certifications. Minimum five years of diverse clinical background, with two or more years of disability management experience preferred. Compensation and Benefits District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, and Washington: national base pay range $54,000 to $103,000 annually.
