Transportation Coordinator

Responsibilities Perform one or more of the following tasks: Act as a dispatcher to coordinate driver activities, receive incoming calls, and assign drivers to meet customer needs. Coordinate and participate in training with individuals and small groups, teaching and reinforcing department procedures and providing feedback to employees and managers. Coordinate the maintenance and repair of vehicles, ensuring they are safe, available and ready for drivers. Support billing, accounts payable, customer service, payroll, building scheduling, information systems, technology and compliance. Coordinate day‑to‑day employee activities for regularly scheduled routes, develop work schedules, audit route performance and identify improvement opportunities. Safely operate a motor vehicle in a variety of conditions to complete deliveries of equipment, packages, specimens and supplies, while staying aware of safety conditions and protecting personnel and self from work‑related accidents or injuries. Make customers’ needs a primary focus, showing interest in and understanding of internal and external customers, gaining trust and respect, meeting or exceeding expectations, and gathering feedback. Convey and receive information clearly, engaging listeners, helping them understand and retain messages, and inviting response and feedback. Manage time effectively by organizing work, setting priorities, determining the correct use of resources, and sequencing activities to achieve goals. Support department goals and objectives, taking proactive action without being asked, working cooperatively in a diverse team environment, and respecting the contributions of others. Adjust to dynamic business needs and conditions, adapting quickly, suggesting improvements, and learning new methods, procedures or techniques. Use a computer and related applications to accurately input, store and retrieve information related to customers, employees and vehicles. Schedule & Hours Weekdays (4)—2:00pm–10:30pm. Saturday or Sunday—12:00pm–8:30pm. Scheduled weekly hours: 40. Location Home Services – Salt Lake City. Work City: South Jordan, Utah. Compensation Hourly range: $21.02–$29.72 (actual rate dependent on experience). Valid CDL Medical Card. Be 21 or older as required by DOT to operate a commercial motor vehicle. Pass a driver’s road test as required by DOT. Six months experience as a transportation driver with Intermountain Healthcare. Demonstrated excellent customer service skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow an assigned schedule. Demonstrated ability to use a computerized tracking system and basic office, dispatch and email programs. Demonstrated ability to understand and follow department procedures and practices, and comply with Intermountain Healthcare’s Motor Vehicle Driver Policy. Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and assignments. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle stressful situations.
