Development Associate

Job Description:

The Development Associate is responsible for daily gift entry, updates, and maintenance of the donor and alumni database, including contributions, biographic, and demographic constituent information. This position has primary responsibility for processing all gifts, acknowledgment letters, and daily deposits, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Advancement Services. This position will also be the first point of contact for guests and provide general office support to the Development and Alumni Relations team.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

Processing all gifts and pledges, including credit card, electronic fund transfers, and online gifts on a daily basis; and processing acknowledgment letters, receipts, and other correspondence to donors

Track and report memorial gifts to the appropriate development officers as needed

Answer and direct phone calls

Order office supplies and manage inventory

Assist Development and Alumni Relations team with general office duties including filing, copying, mailing, etc.

Ensure accuracy and integrity of data and donor files

Provide general support to visitors

Scan and index all gifts, pledges, and add and update all pertinent demographic information into the OnBase document imaging system and Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT.

Execute matching gift processing to maximize income from donors' matching gift companies

Serve as a member of the Duplicate Committee for the management of data integrity and eliminating duplicate records in Colleague

Occasionally work at various Development and Alumni Relations events throughout the year



Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

College degree preferred

Must maintain confidentiality of donor records

Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Must have skills for accurate data entry

Preferred Qualifications:

Must have good attention to detail

Must have some experience in data entry and word processing, experience in relational database preferred

Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT knowledge preferred, but not required
