Administrative Office Assistant

Assist with the operation of school administrative office and provide clerical services for school's administrative staff.

Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills: Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records Knowledge of basic accounting principles Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to perform a variety of tasks often changing assignment on short notice Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience: One to three years secretarial experience preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties: General Skills Works cooperatively with others. Participates in meetings, training, and special events. Follows oral and written instructions from supervisor. Follows district policies and procedures. Provides safety and security for self and others. Completes assignments on time and accurately. Follows attendance and punctuality rules. Reception and Phones Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff. Assist student, teacher, and parents as needed.

Specialized Skills Uses appropriate software programs. Compiles information or data and produces appropriate reports. Maintains data and physical files. Assist with orders and maintaining inventory of supplies.

Other Sort, distribute, or deliver mail and other documents when necessary. Maintain confidentiality.
