Business Development, Preclinical/Clinical Solutions Senior Manager - East Coast

Azenta seeks a Senior Manager for Business Development in Preclinical/Clinical Solutions to lead US market expansion and client acquisition for genomics and research services. The role combines strategic planning, consultative sales, and relationship management across biotech, pharma, and CRO sectors.
Responsibilities
- Drive US Preclinical and Clinical Solutions portfolio growth through expansion strategy, client targeting, and new opportunity identification
- Own full business development lifecycle from pricing proposals and strategic planning to client engagement and project delivery
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities by building relationships with key decision-makers in biotech, pharma, and CROs
- Conduct market analysis, competitive research, and lead contract negotiations ensuring alignment with company objectives
- Collaborate cross-functionally with project management, marketing, and scientific teams to meet client needs and ensure successful project delivery
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree minimum; PhD preferred in life sciences, biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, chemistry, or bioengineering
- 7-10+ years professional experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical services, CROs, or biotechnology
- 5+ years consultative sales, key account management, or commercial growth selling complex scientific solutions
- Proven ability managing long sales cycles (6-18 months) with technical teams and procurement departments
- Experience with preclinical services and/or clinical solutions; track record exceeding annual quotas ($3M-$10M+ ACV)
- Demonstrated expertise drafting, negotiating, and closing MSAs and SOWs
- Valid US driver's license; active network within regional biotech hubs and pharma companies
Compensation: $150,000 base + $70,000 SIP
