ESS Permanent Paraprofessional

An ESS paraprofessional supports teachers and students in providing a safe, effective, and supportive learning environment. The paraprofessional works under the direction and supervision of a certified teacher to assist with instructional activities, student supervision, classroom management, and other duties necessary to support student learning and school operations.


While applicants may be considered for permanent roles, the District retains full authority to determine permanent placements based on current needs and eligibility.


This is a full-time, 40 hour a week position.


Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with instructional activities and the implementation of lesson plans.


• Provide individual and small group assistance to students as directed by the classroom teacher.


• Reinforce skills and concepts previously introduced by the classroom teacher.


• Assist students with classroom assignments, learning activities, and appropriate use of instructional materials and technology.


• Monitor and supervise students at all times.

• Maintain confidentiality regarding students, employees, families, and school matters in accordance with district policies and applicable laws.

• Work cooperatively with teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, and other school personnel.

• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students and adhere to all ethical standards applicable to school employees.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred or passing GACE Paraprofessional testing

• State/FBI Criminal History Clearance
