Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a TX or compact license and prior high-risk cardiac surgery experience.

Details

• Work in a 28-bed Cardiovascular ICU
• Patient population is 80% Cardiac Surgery and 20% Advanced Heart Failure
• Cares for high-risk cardiac surgery patients including Open Heart Recovery, Heart Transplants, LVAD Implants, ECMO, Impella, IABP, and CRRT
• Utilizes Swan Ganz Catheters and CCO Monitoring
• Uses Cerner/COMPASS EMR
• May float PRN to MICU, SICU, or Medical/Cardiac Stepdown Units
• Day shift schedule from 06:45 to 19:15
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Preferred experience with cardiac advanced device therapy management, including at minimum IABP, Impella, or Swan-Ganz management
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Deliver direct patient care as an RN, implementing individualized care plans and evidence-based interventions
• Administer physician and nursing orders in compliance with regulatory standards
• Lead discharge planning in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe patient transitions
• Navy scrub color required
• Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule may apply that affects pay rate
• First-time travelers may be considered
