- Prepare and maintain a sterile field before, during, and after surgery, ensuring all instruments and equipment are correctly sterilized and available.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by providing instruments, sponges, and other essential tools.
- Anticipate the surgical team's needs to facilitate a smooth and efficient operation.
- Ensure all surgical instruments are accounted for, properly disposed of, or cleaned following each procedure.
- Oversee the sterile environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Current Texas certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is required.
- New graduates must obtain national certification within 180 days of graduation.
- CPR certification is necessary.
