Cardiac and Vascular Radiologic Technologist

Centered in the heart of Yuba-Sutter County, this healthcare provider has been a leading institution in the area since 1907. Job Summary

The Cardiac and Vascular Radiologic Technologist performs, assists, and completes radiographic examinations in the cardiovascular lab, utilizing complex diagnostic equipment. This role encompasses the operation of imaging devices to capture digital images as ordered by physicians, positioning and instructing patients for specialized studies.

Essential Functions

• Operate diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast-enhanced radiographs of the heart and cardiovascular system during cardiac catheterization to support diagnostic evaluations and treatments.
• Position and immobilize patients on examination tables, adhering to established protocols.
• Assist physicians with specialized procedures and exams.
• Input technical factors into the computer based on protocols, including radiation beam specifications and filming sequences.
• Manage the examination table and x-ray tube positioning per physician instructions.
• Initiate automatic contrast medium injections into patient blood vessels.
• Activate fluoroscopy and motion picture cameras to generate images aiding in catheter guidance through the cardiovascular system.
• Explain procedures to patients, offering comprehensive discharge instructions.
• Monitor and observe various data related to patient vitals during imaging, alerting physicians to any significant changes.

Job Requirements

• Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience; Bachelor's Degree in radiologic technology or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: Preferred experience in Cath Lab or Special Procedures.
• Licenses/Certifications:
  
  
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification preferred.
  • Radiologic Tech (RT) certification in the state of practice is required.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor is required.

Additional Information

This position requires at least two years of recent experience in the field, a current BLS certification, and a current nursing license as per state assignment. For any additional or specialty-specific requirements, please inquire directly.

The role is a day shift, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with additional staffing required during on-call rotations.
