Job Overview Retail Banking Sales & Service Guide – responsible for guiding, directing, and coaching employees to deliver exceptional service. The role includes advising customers on products, supporting sales and customer service activities, and acting as an originator of consumer loans per Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the Safe and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (S.A.F.E. Act). Responsibilities Guide, direct, and coach employees to provide outstanding customer service and sales. Understand customer needs and advise on products and strategies that best serve their financial objectives. Provide referrals to other business groups and develop a personal referral network. Support sales and customer service activities to meet profitability and customer‑experience goals, ensuring compliance with all legal, regulatory, and bank policy requirements. Act as an originator of consumer loans, meeting all registration and licensing obligations. Foster a culture aligned with BMO purpose, values, and diversity and inclusion principles. Build and develop interdependent teams, attract and retain talent, and manage performance and coaching. Develop and execute a branch business plan to maximize growth, wallet share, and customer retention. Conduct sales calls, cold calls, and community‑based outreach to acquire new business. Maintain relationships with key customers and prospects, resolving issues using bank knowledge and processes. Influence and negotiate to achieve business objectives and identify emerging trends. Implement, review, and revise work plans; conduct independent analysis to resolve strategic issues. Communicate goals, plans, and assignments to achieve financial and service targets. Lead implementation of new programs, products, and processes within the branch. Coordinate national and regional sales and service initiatives. Monitor service request and problem‑resolution processes for adherence to standards. Provide technical training and support to maintain operational and sales effectiveness. Plan and control unit operating expenses in line with forecasts. Identify and report suspicious activity related to money laundering. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Qualifications 4‑6 years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree or equivalent education and experience. Preferred supervisory or management experience. In‑depth knowledge of retail banking products and services. Advanced understanding of competitive marketplace trends. Working knowledge of branch operational processes, technologies, and performance metrics. Phased experience with applicable regulations, audit standards, and policy directives. Technical proficiency gained through education or business experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong collaboration, teamwork, analytical, problem‑solving, influence, and data‑driven decision‑making capabilities. Benefits & Compensation Salary range: $51,800.00 – $95,900.00 (salaried). Commissions and performance‑based incentives may apply.
