About the Role:

The Program Manager VI in the manufacturing industry is responsible for leading and overseeing complex, large-scale programs that drive strategic business objectives and operational excellence. This role requires managing cross-functional teams, coordinating multiple projects, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals while maintaining budget, schedule, and quality standards. The Program Manager VI will serve as a key liaison between stakeholders, including engineering, production, supply chain, and executive leadership, to facilitate communication and decision-making. They will also identify risks and opportunities, implement mitigation strategies, and continuously improve program processes to enhance efficiency and outcomes. Ultimately, this position plays a critical role in delivering innovative manufacturing solutions that support the company’s growth and competitive advantage in the marketplace.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 13 years of program or project management experience within the manufacturing industry.
• Proven track record of managing large, complex programs involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and quality standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with program management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Ability to travel domestically as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering Management, or a related discipline.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Experience working in a global manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex manufacturing programs from initiation through completion.
• Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams to ensure program objectives are met on time and within budget.
• Develop and maintain detailed program schedules, budgets, and resource plans, adjusting as necessary to address changes or challenges.
• Communicate program status, risks, and issues to senior leadership and stakeholders, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing program performance data and implementing best practices.
• Facilitate risk management processes, including identification, assessment, and mitigation of program risks.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies throughout the program lifecycle.
• Mentor and develop junior program managers and team members to build organizational capability.

Skills:

The required skills enable the Program Manager VI to effectively plan, execute, and control complex manufacturing programs by leveraging strong leadership and organizational capabilities. Communication skills are essential for coordinating diverse teams and engaging stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment and transparency. Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality standards allows the manager to make informed decisions and drive improvements. Proficiency with program management software supports detailed scheduling, resource allocation, and risk tracking, ensuring programs stay on course. Preferred skills such as Lean and Six Sigma methodologies enhance the ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements, while certifications and advanced degrees contribute to strategic thinking and credibility in managing large-scale initiatives.

For California, the base salary pay range for this role is $173,197 - $242,696 per year.
