Clinical Pharmacist - Acute Care 50%The University of Iowa Department of Pharmaceutical Care is looking for a 50% Clinical Pharmacist to join our team! The clinical pharmacist is responsible for all aspects of medication preparation and dispensing throughout the institution. The position will have rotating shifts including weekdays, weekends, and evenings in adult dispensing areas, including Central Pharmacy, IV Admixture Pharmacy, Adult Satellite, and OR satellite. The clinical pharmacist oversees preparation and dispensing of sterile and non-sterile products, to all acute care service areas and ambulatory clinics. In addition, the clinical pharmacist completes order verification and provides therapeutic drug monitoring for select patient populations from the Adult Satellite. The position provides an opportunity to precept pharmacy students on rotations.Position ResponsibilitiesMedication Preparation and DispensingOrder Verification and Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM)Educational ServicesQualificationsEducation Requirements: Pharm. D. (Doctor of Pharmacy) degree or Bachelor of Science in PharmacyCurrent licensure by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners is required.Experience Requirements: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Desired Qualifications: Experience in hospital pharmacy setting is highly desired. One year of applicable pharmacy experience is preferred.
