Maintenance EngineerThis entry-level Maintenance Engineer role focuses on performing routine and preventive maintenance on cement plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You will work with crushers, grinders, kilns, and material handling systems, diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues, supporting equipment upgrades, and contributing to maintenance planning. This position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on engineering experience while working closely with experienced personnel in a dynamic manufacturing environment, with benefits available from day one.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment such as crushers, grinders, kilns, and material handling systems to ensure optimal operation and minimize downtime.Identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical issues affecting production, using structured problem-solving methods to implement effective and lasting solutions.Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts usage, in accordance with established procedures.Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of maintenance schedules, procedures, and best practices to enhance equipment reliability.Collaborate closely with personnel and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruption to production.Participate in team meetings to discuss ongoing projects, maintenance priorities, and progress updates.Adhere to all safety regulations, procedures, and protocols while performing maintenance duties, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others.Participate in safety drills and initiatives, and actively contribute to fostering a safety-conscious culture within the facility.Support ongoing projects such as equipment upgrades, modifications, or installations by providing technical input and hands-on assistance during implementation.Assist in planning major shutdown work requests, including preparing detailed instructions, estimating required human resources, identifying necessary materials and special tools, and estimating job durations.Continuously seek opportunities for professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in maintenance engineering practices and cement production processes.Use maintenance software tools such as Tabware and other computer applications to document work, track tasks, and support maintenance planning.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Entry-level work experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.Basic understanding of mechanical systems and their components.Basic understanding of electrical systems relevant to industrial equipment.Basic understanding of instrumentation used in manufacturing environments.Ability to analyze problems, develop practical solutions, and implement changes effectively.Strong attention to detail when performing maintenance tasks and documenting work.Excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments.Excellent written communication skills for preparing reports and maintenance documentation.Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate across functions.Proficiency with Tabware or similar maintenance management software.Proficiency with AutoCAD for reviewing or creating technical drawings.Proficiency with Microsoft Project or similar tools for supporting maintenance planning and scheduling.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with CAD software, such as AutoCAD, or other engineering tools.Interest in developing expertise in cement production processes and heavy industrial equipment.Willingness to learn advanced troubleshooting techniques for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.Motivation to pursue ongoing professional development in maintenance engineering.Ability to adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple tasks.Strong organizational skills for managing maintenance records and supporting shutdown planning.Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a cement plant environment, with approximately 80% of your time spent on the manufacturing floor and 20% in an office setting. The manufacturing floor is a heavy industrial environment that can be dirty and warm, with exposure to dust, noise, and large rotating equipment. You will work around crushers, grinders, kilns, and material handling systems, using tools, instrumentation, and computer-based systems such as Tabware, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office. The office environment supports planning, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required on the manufacturing floor, and safety practices are a central part of daily operations.Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Sugar Creek, MO.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
