Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location

Madison, WI

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Every other weekend and some holidays required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care (IMC) Acute Medical/Progressive Care setting and an IMC Thoracic unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms including lethal arrhythmias and heart blocks
• Manage care for oncology, cardiac, and PCU/stepdown patient populations
• Support ventilator-dependent patients and transplant patients as part of the care team
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license or valid Compact RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Minimum of two years of inpatient acute care experience in IMC/PCU/Stepdown within the last three years
• Telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Ventilator and transplant experience required
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to start (passing score of 80% or higher; 100% identification of lethal rhythms required)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a high-acuity academic or teaching hospital environment
• Familiarity with both adult and pediatric telemetry rhythm interpretation
