Job Title: Buyer / Senior Buyer (DOE) Reporting to: Carl Vogliardo, Supply Chain Manager Location: Lenexa, KS Do you have a passion for the automotive industry? Buyer We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented buyer to be responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products for our business. Your responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, creating and maintaining an inventory, quality assurance, and liaising with inventory teams and management. The buyer will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand. The buyer should be analytically minded and possess excellent negotiating skills to secure the best prices according to budget. Knowledge of sales and marketing principles is advantageous. Responsibilities Research, select, and purchase quality products and materials. Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing. Ensure accuracy of item level details such as lead times, MOQs, order multipliers, etc. Manage past due orders, move out/move in requests. Verify accuracy and save packing slips. Onboard new vendors as needed. Coordinate the delivery of international shipments including customs paperwork. Utilize feedback from internal stakeholders to ensure their needs are met. Order MRO items as needed/requested. Process requisitions and update management on status of orders. Update inventory and ensure that the stock is kept at appropriate levels. Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery. Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions. Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom as required. Assess the quality of stock received and elevate any discrepancies to suppliers and management. Close coordination and collaboration with the leadership team of our Tijuana, Mexico facility. Other duties as assigned. Requirements and Skills Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred. Experience as a buyer, purchasing agent, procurement specialist, etc preferred. Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint). Proficient in and experience with ERP/MRP software. Critical thinking and negotiation skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Occasional domestic and international travel required. A valid passport is required for this position. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
