National Healthcare company is hiring a Remote Pharmacy Tech.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with specialized experience in Rx Prior Authorizations to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a central liaison within our Clinical Hub, actively connecting pharmacists, facility staff, physicians, and Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs).

You will manage the end-to-end prior authorization process, investigate claim and payment denials, compile clinical justifications, and navigate EMAR systems to ensure efficient, high-quality care for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Prior Authorization Processing: Initiate, accurately complete, and manage Prior Authorization (PA) requests from submission through resolution with a high level of attention to detail.

Multi-Stakeholder Communication: Act as a key point of contact within the Clinical Hub, proactively liaising with pharmacists, long-term care or clinical facilities, prescribing physicians, and PDPs regarding PA statuses and Therapeutic Interchanges.

Denial Investigation & Resolution: Call insurance plans directly to investigate root causes of payment denials, clearly communicate denial reasons back to facility teams, and outline necessary next steps.

Clinical Documentation: Gather, update, and document clinical justifications required by insurance payers to support PA approvals and appeals.

Systems Utilization: Maintain and update patient and facility records using Electronic Medication Administration Record (EMAR) systems and internal pharmacy technology.

Qualifications & Requirements

Credentials: Active Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT required).

Experience: Hands-on experience initiating, tracking, and resolving prescription Prior Authorizations (PAs) and payment denials.

System Knowledge: Familiarity with EMAR systems and pharmacy management software.

Industry Familiarity: Strong understanding of Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs), therapeutic interchanges, and medical/pharmacy claims workflows.

Required Skills & Competencies

Detail-Oriented: Meticulous approach to completing complex PA forms and reviewing clinical data accurately.

Communication: Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills for extensive phone work with payers, facilities, and providers.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical ability to troubleshoot claim denials and pursue clinical resolutions.

Time Management: Capability to prioritize urgent medication requests effectively during the 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM CST shift.
