Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit. The nurse will provide care for patients recovering from cardiovascular surgery and procedures, including but not limited to open heart and vascular surgeries. The successful candidate will work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate closely with a team committed to excellence in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients recovering from cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries.
• Administer medications and manage IV drip lines (including cardiac gtts).
• Provide comprehensive patient assessments and maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans.
• Participate in the management of chest tubes and epidural procedures as required.
• Support and educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and health management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in the state of North Carolina.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Experience in a stepdown or telemetry unit is a must.
• Preferred experience in cardiovascular surgery and vascular care.
