Position: Registered Nurse – PACU
Specialty: RN PACU
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Hours: 12-hour shifts
Location: 20201 South Crawford Ave.

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to provide specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures. The RN will closely monitor patients during the immediate postoperative period, manage pain and nausea, identify complications, and ensure safe recovery and transfer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in the PACU following surgical and anesthesia procedures.
• Monitor vital signs, airway, oxygen saturation, cardiac status, level of consciousness, and overall recovery.
• Assess patients for postoperative complications and promptly initiate appropriate interventions.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as ordered.
• Manage postoperative pain, nausea, vomiting, and other recovery-related symptoms.
• Maintain accurate patient assessments, documentation, and recovery records.
• Communicate patient condition and recovery status with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.
• Safely prepare patients for transfer to inpatient units or discharge when recovery criteria are met.
• Maintain infection prevention and patient safety standards.
• Provide education and instructions to patients and families regarding postoperative care.

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Recent PACU/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit experience .
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Knowledge of anesthesia recovery and postoperative monitoring.
• Ability to recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work a 12-hour day shift, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM .
