Laboratory Specimen Processor - Histology

Labcorp seeks a Laboratory Specimen Processor for histology work at a Milwaukee hospital location. The role involves receiving, processing, and preparing anatomic pathology specimens in a second-shift, production-based laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, accessory, and process anatomic pathology specimens
• Prepare and load tissue processing runs; cut and stain frozen section tissues
• Perform routine maintenance on histology instrumentation
• Route, label, pack, and ship specimens to appropriate testing facilities
• Perform data entry of patient information and resolve documentation of problem specimens

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Six months or more clinical or medical industry work experience
• Ability to handle biological specimens and accurately identify them
• Strong data entry, organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Proficiency in MS Office and ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Must pass standardized color blindness test
• Team-oriented with experience in collaborative work environments
