Job Title Maintenance of Traffic Laborer Job Summary The Maintenance of Traffic Laborer is responsible for performing temporary traffic control operations on roadway construction projects. The role protects and conveys the public efficiently within a specified work zone, following all applicable federal, state, local regulations, company policies, and safety guidelines. Essential Job Functions Set‑up and maintain traffic control devices, installation and service of work‑zone signs, and lights. Set up and maintain assigned maintenance of traffic activities, including detours and lane closures. Coordinate services with on‑site client representatives or officials. Load and unload equipment into and out of company trucks. Deliver and pick‑up equipment from customer job sites. Coordinate activities of traffic control laborers to ensure compliance with MOT guidelines. Recommend procedures for traffic maintenance activities based on existing conditions. Complete daily paperwork and reports as required by the supervisor. If approved, operate a company vehicle and maintain company standards, including a clean Motor Vehicle Record. Desired Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in Maintenance of Traffic / Temporary Traffic Control or related industry (e.g., Road Construction, Highway Maintenance, Construction). High School Diploma or GED required with clear written and verbal communication skills. Required Skills Repeated physical effort—including driving, standing, walking, and lifting—for extended periods of time. Ability to operate company equipment safely and efficiently.
