Our FP&A team plays a critical role in driving financial strategy, supporting decision-making, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our business across subscriptions, advertising, and emerging revenue streams.Why this role mattersThe Associate Director of FP&A is a key functional leader within the Finance organization who acts as a strategic partner to senior editorial and commercial stakeholders, owns critical planning processes, and leads a team responsible for delivering high-impact financial insights.This leadership role is designed for high organizational impact — combining strong analytical rigor, business partnership, and people leadership. You are a collaborative leader who is able to motivate and develop a team of financial analysts, foster a culture of high standards, and who is willing to go above and beyond to drive growth and innovation in our business.You are passionate about our mission to deliver high-quality, impactful journalism that informs and inspires our audience.How you will Support the missionFinancial Planning & ForecastingLead consolidation effort around monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, speed, and transparencyMaintain and improve driver-based financial models to support revenue and cost planningIdentify risks and opportunities, proactively updating forecasts and communicating implications, in collaboration with other FP&A leadersStrategic Business PartnershipPartner with leaders across editorial, product, advertising, and subscription teams to inform decision-making around our content strategy in News and OpinionsTranslate financial data into clear, actionable insights that shape business strategyChallenge assumptions and elevate thinking to improve resource allocation and ROIPerformance Management & ReportingOversee management reporting, variance analysis, and KPI trackingDeliver concise, executive-ready materials for senior leadershipContinuously improve reporting frameworks to enhance clarity and speedTeam Leadership & DevelopmentManage and develop a team of FP&A analystsFoster a high-performance culture focused on ownership, speed, and influenceCoach team members on financial modeling, storytelling, and business partnership skillsProcess Improvement & ScalingDrive enhancements in planning processes, systems, and tools (e.g., Anaplan, Adaptive, Excel models).Streamline workflows to increase efficiency and enable faster decision-making.Embrace AI and automation to help future proof core FP&A techniques and processes Skills and Experience You BringMinimum Qualifications7+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or consultingPrior people management experience required (3+ years)Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related fieldDemonstrated track record of owning planning processes and influencing business decisionsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and develop actionable insightsProven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.Advanced financial modeling and forecasting capabilitiesExperience with FP&A systems (e.g., Oracle Hyperion, Planful) and data tools (e.g. Tableau)Preferred Qualifications:10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or consultingPrior people management experience (5+ years)Experience at a Fortune 500 company and/or digital media organization strongly preferredMBA, CFA, or CPASQL/BI tools a plusCollaboration makes us stronger.
