Credit Analyst
Point One - Hedge Fund Talent
A leading global hedge fund is seeking a Buy‑Side Credit Analyst to join a high‑performing investment team based in New York. This is a front‑office role focused on identifying and evaluating corporate credit investment opportunities across high yield bonds, leveraged loans, and broader credit markets within a dynamic multi‑strategy platform. This position offers direct exposure to experienced Portfolio Managers and the opportunity to contribute investment ideas, conduct in‑depth fundamental research, and play a key role in portfolio construction and risk management. The successful candidate will work within a collaborative, fast‑paced environment where rigorous analysis and differentiated thinking are highly valued. Key Responsibilities Conduct fundamental credit analysis across high yield bonds, leveraged loans, and corporate credit opportunities. Develop detailed financial models and investment frameworks to assess risk and return profiles. Identify, evaluate, and present investment opportunities to Portfolio Managers. Monitor existing portfolio positions and assess key risks, catalysts, and investment developments. Perform industry, issuer, and capital structure analysis across a broad range of sectors. Analyse market trends, credit fundamentals, and broader macro developments impacting investments. Conduct relative value analysis across issuers, sectors, and credit instruments. Work closely with Portfolio Managers and investment professionals to support portfolio construction and idea generation. Requirements Approx. 3–8 years of experience within credit investing, credit research, leveraged finance, high yield, distressed debt, or buy‑side investing. Strong understanding of corporate credit markets, leveraged loans, and capital structure analysis. Experience performing fundamental credit analysis and financial modelling. Demonstrated ability to evaluate investment opportunities and communicate recommendations effectively. Strong analytical and quantitative skillset with excellent attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, front‑office investment environment. Prior experience working directly with Portfolio Managers or investment teams is highly desirable.
