Product Quality Engineer

Location: Plainview, NY

We are seeking a Product Quality Engineer to support quality initiatives across the design, manufacturing, testing, and production lifecycle of aerospace products. This role will partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to investigate product issues, drive corrective actions, and ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards.

This position is ideal for someone with experience in aerospace or another regulated manufacturing environment who enjoys solving technical problems, improving processes, and driving product quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA/CAPA) investigations for product failures, field returns, and nonconforming material.
• Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and support disposition of nonconforming products.
• Prepare and review First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
• Support Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), inspection plans, quality procedures, quality alerts, and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
• Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support supplier quality activities, including audits, corrective actions, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Review manufacturing processes and support continuous improvement efforts using lean manufacturing principles.
• Analyze quality data, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality standards and customer requirements.
• Support product qualification, testing, and production readiness activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of Quality Engineering experience within aerospace, defense, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA), RCCA, and CAPA investigations.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 quality standards.
• Experience with First Article Inspections (AS9102).
• Experience participating in Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
• Supplier Quality experience, including audits and corrective actions.
• Quality certifications such as CQE, CQA, or similar.
• Experience reviewing quality procedures, inspection plans, ATPs, and ECNs.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Open to Early-Career Engineers

Recent graduates with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering may be considered if they have completed internships or co-op assignments in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Aerospace Manufacturing environments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainview, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $46.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
