Job Duties

• Prepare and file federal, state, and multi-state individual, business, trust, estate, and gift tax returns.
• Perform quarterly and year-end tax planning for business and individual clients to identify tax-saving opportunities.
• Review financial statements, accounting records, and supporting documentation to ensure accurate tax return preparation.
• Research tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance with current federal and state tax requirements.
• Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer tax-related questions, and provide guidance.
• Serve as a tax subject matter expert for clients and non-tax staff.
• Assist clients with tax notices, audits, and correspondence from federal, state, and local taxing authorities.
• Maintain accurate client records and documentation within a paperless environment.
• Collaborate with accounting and advisory teams to deliver high-quality client solutions and exceptional customer service.

Requirements

• Current CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or EA (Enrolled Agent) license, or active pursuit of certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of tax preparation experience in public accounting or a tax-focused environment.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and multi-state tax regulations for individuals and businesses.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial statement analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, along with PDF and accounting software applications.
• Experience with QuickBooks and other tax/accounting software; UltraTax experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and issue-resolution skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities with a client-focused approach.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working in a paperless, technology-driven office environment.
• High level of accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
