About the Role
The Company is seeking a visionary and strategic leader to serve as the Dean of Libraries. The successful candidate will be the chief academic and administrative officer, responsible for providing strategic leadership that aligns with the company's mission and priorities. This role involves overseeing all aspects of library operations, including strategic planning, academic and research support, resource management, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. The Dean will be expected to champion the role of the libraries in academic leadership, advance digital scholarship, and ensure the libraries contribute to the success of students, faculty, and staff. Collaboration, partnership, and a strong commitment to fundraising and external engagement are also key responsibilities. Candidates for the Dean of Libraries position at the company should have an earned terminal degree in library and information science or a related field, with a strong background in academic or research library administration. The role requires a leader with a proven track record in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource management, as well as a deep commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and collaborative partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a forward-thinking vision for the evolving roles of research libraries, experience in digital scholarship, and a successful history of fundraising and resource development. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships both within the organization and with external stakeholders are essential. The Dean will also be expected to lead the libraries in achieving strategic priorities, including the development and implementation of a bold strategic plan, advancing digital scholarship, and enhancing community engagement.
