At Metropolis, you’ll build your career in a dynamic, tech‑forward Finance environment with broad exposure to accounting, tax, and client reporting functions. Your responsibilities will be centered on foundational transactional accounting, account reconciliation, and essential support for the monthly close process and compliance efforts. These activities are crucial for maintaining the integrity of our financial records under US GAAP, client reports and preparing data for Tax compliance and filings. What you’ll do Prepare and post routine journal entries, ensuring they are properly documented and adhere to established US GAAP policies Execute bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations (e.g., prepaids, accrued expenses, and certain intercompany accounts) Assist with the maintenance of the fixed asset subledger, recording additions, transfers, and disposals Assist the AP function by entering vendor invoices, verifying proper approval, and reconciling vendor statements Determine month‑end accruals with heightened focus on significant vendors Prepare monthly financial statements for Real Estate Partners in accordance with contractual agreements Prepare basic accruals and schedules to assist with complex close procedures Complete indirect tax filings Support the Tax team by gathering data for various tax filings, ensuring alignment with Tax Code requirements What we’re looking for Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field Professional accounting experience and a CPA candidate Exhibit a proactive desire to rapidly acquire accounting experience, translating learning and real‑world experience directly into operational accounting tasks and process improvement Strong communication skills with ability to engage across multiple functions Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in high‑volume processes Strong analytical skills and collaborative team approach Interest in leveraging technology and AI tools to streamline accounting processes 4 Days in Office Metropolis values in‑person collaboration to drive innovation, strengthen culture, and enhance the Member experience. Our corporate team members hold to our office‑first model, which requires employees to be on‑site at least four days a week, fostering organic interactions that spark creativity and connection. Benefits and Compensation The anticipated base salary for this position is $70,000.00 USD to $80,000.00 USD annually. The actual base salary offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant’s qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base salary is one component of Metropolis’ total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a lucrative stock option plan, bonus plans and more.
