Assistant Unit Controller

Location & Salary Arlington Heights, IL or Portland, OR (Hybrid) Salary Range: $108,900–134,050 per year plus bonus. (Note: salary range is a general guideline, reflecting a position based in Illinois. Criteria such as candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.) Responsibilities Assist in planning, coordinating, and administering accounting and FP&A activities, including recording information, reporting financial results, and ensuring strong internal controls. Analyze all aspects of financial operations (manufacturing, cost performance, cash flow, deviations, etc.) and formulate insightful financial analysis. Partner with key business partners to drive the financial planning process and identify trends and drivers. Maintain the company’s financial, management and compliance reporting functions in partnership with the Business Unit Controller. Own periodic management reporting and analysis package; drive standardization of reporting metrics. Include monthly reporting into corporate and adherence to close schedule. Lead close process and preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections. Drive balance sheet and P&L forecasting; assist BU Controller in implementing forecasts across the business. Manage audits (internal and external), US SOX testing and compliance; own quarterly review of all SOX controls. Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies. Analyze ledger and module transactions; handle routine and special projects. Manage elements of Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, and Make to Order transactional flow and activity. Review proposals for economic justification. Participate in strategic planning and support shared service groups; assist payroll processing. Drive process creation, effective change management and organizational adoption of technology solutions. Provide data‑driven solutions and actionable insights. Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills; proven ability to manage staff and develop talent. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. Lead accounting/finance role within the manufacturing industry preferred. University graduation or professional certification (CPA preferred). Inter‑company trading experience highly desired. Analytical and problem‑solving skills to conduct comprehensive financial analysis and evaluation of reporting activities.
