Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a hospital in Alexandria, LA. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive obstetric nursing care in a fast-paced maternity unit, supporting patients through labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor fetal and maternal health status throughout labor and delivery.
• Administer medications, including epidurals, and manage IVs and lab draws.
• Collaborate with medical team to coordinate patient care and procedures such as c-sections and amniocentesis.
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR system.
• Follow unit policies, including on-call rotations and weekend shifts.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients and their families.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current state registration.
• Minimum of 1 year of obstetric nursing experience.
• Proficient in starting IVs, drawing labs, and interpreting fetal strips.
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
• Ability to perform vaginal exams and assist with procedures such as IUPC/FSE placement.
• Excellent organizational and patient care skills with a compassionate attitude.
