A growing communications company is seeking a Cable Technician who possesses a combination of technical and soft skills with an understanding of electronics and electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and components.  Work hours are first shift from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; however, you must be flexible to work 5 or 6 days per week.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with clients to install cabling on-site; may include final system activation
• Respond to repair calls
• Read blueprints and technical diagrams to determine how to best install the components and wiring
• Test all systems and troubleshoot any issues
• Teach the client how to use the system and maintain customer rapport by listening to and resolving concerns and answering questions
• Maintain safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations
• Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications

Job Qualifications:

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Must have low voltage electrician or cable company experience; Technician Certification is preferred
• Must have knowledge of electrical safety procedures
• Must be proficient reading and interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams
• Must have strong troubleshooting and diagnosing skills while resolving issues
• Must have strong communication and documentation skills
• Must be able to pay a high attention to detail
• Must be a highly self-motivated individual while working independently and as part of a team
• Safety consciousness and adherence to industry regulations is required
• Must have a strong work ethic
