We are seeking a dually certified Peer Support Specialist and Recovery Coach assigned to Network180's Access Center.

In the Peer Support Specialist role, they will assist individuals in understanding and using mental health and substance use disorders services. The Peer Support Specialist will model competency in recovery and demonstrate on-going coping skills.

In the Recovery Coach role, they will assist individuals in understanding and accessing substance use disorder services. The Recovery Coach will model competency in recovery and demonstrate on-going coping skills. The Recovery Coach will bring their lived experience and peer perspective to the multidisciplinary team.

This position is 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. There are no weekends, on call, or holiday requirements for this position. This assignment is in-person at 790 Fuller Ave NE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.

Minimum qualifications include:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Certification as Peer Recovery Coach and Peer Support Specialist or able to obtain certification within first year of employment by meeting the following requirements:
• Peer Recovery Coach: Have a substance use disorder, co-occurring disorder(s), and/or non-substance addictive disorder(s) and have received treatment from a public or private provider; Have two continuous years in recovery at some point in time after the age of 18; Have personal experience in navigating complex substance use disorder, co-occurring disorder(s), and/or non-substance addictive disorder(s) treatment services (self-help groups are not included); Self-identifies as having a substance use disorder, co-occurring disorder(s), and/or non-substance addictive disorder(s) with a substantial life disruption and shares their recovery story in supporting others.
• Peer Support Specialist: Primary diagnosis of a mental health condition; A strong personal knowledge of what it is like to have first-hand lived experience with a mental health condition that has caused a substantial life disruption; Have been a recipient of mental health treatment and/or services for at least one year, with a substantial life disruption due to their mental health condition; Have personal experience in navigating complex mental health treatment services. Self-identifies as having a mental health condition with a substantial life disruption and shares their recovery story in supporting others.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for job related use.
• Ongoing stability of symptoms and recovery with ability to help others who may be experiencing behavioral health symptoms/crisis.
• Knowledge about mental illnesses and/or substance use disorders as well as about recovery and crisis planning.
• Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and data entry skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Work effectively in a multicultural environment and skills and capabilities of bridging language/cultural barriers to Network180 services within diverse communities.
