Assignment Type: Temporary

Compensation: $28 – $32 / hour

Work Schedule: M-F 9-5

Job Description:

Addison Group is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to support the accounting and financial operations of a growing organization. This position is responsible for accounts payable processing, general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and monthly close activities, while also providing accounting support for development and construction projects.

The ideal candidate has a background in construction accounting, experience recording accounts payable transactions to the general ledger, and familiarity with Yardi or similar accounting software.

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payment processing.
• Prepare and record journal entries to support the monthly close process.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with accounting activities related to development and construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and support loan draw packages and lien releases.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with established accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows.
• Assist with special projects, reporting, and other accounting duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a construction or development environment.
• Experience with construction accounting and project-related financial activities preferred.
• Ability to record accounts payable transactions to the general ledger.
• Experience with Yardi strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
