This is a high-ownership role for someone who takes genuine pride in clean books, timely closes, and trustworthy data, combining a strong foundation in transactional accounting with working knowledge of inventory and COGS in a product-based business.This role is hybrid, based in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA with a minimum of 3 days onsite per week. Please apply only if you're able to meet this requirement.What You'll DoAccounting OperationsManage full-cycle accounts payable including invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliationReconcile revenues against the point of sale systemMaintain general ledger accuracy through regular journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustmentsOwn the month-end close process, preparing accruals, reconciling accounts, and ensuring books are closed on scheduleManage monthly credit card transactions and reconcile with department headsIdentify and resolve discrepancies with clear documentationInventory & COGS AccountingManage inventory valuation and reconciliation across all SKUs and locationsTrack and analyze cost of goods sold, surfacing variances and insights to Finance leadershipReview and maintain bills of materials to ensure accurate cost inputsReconcile inventory records between the ERP system, 3PL reports, and the general ledgerSupport periodic physical inventory counts and resolve discrepanciesFinancial ReportingAssist with monthly financial statements and supporting schedulesSupport KPI dashboard maintenance and variance analysisCompile financial data and analysis for internal reporting needsWhat You BringRequired4 to 6 years of progressive accounting experience with ownership of AP, AR, and month-end closeStrong experience with QuickBooks OnlineWorking knowledge of inventory accounting and COGS in a product-based or DTC environmentProficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, comfortable with reconciliations, pivot tables, and data analysisHigh attention to detail with strong organizational skills and consistent follow-throughAble to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environmentPreferredExperience in a DTC, CPG, or e-commerce companyFamiliarity with Luminous, NetSuite, or other inventory management systemsExperience reconciling 3PL inventory data against internal recordsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldWhat Success Looks LikeMonth-end close is completed on schedule with clean reconciliations and no recurring discrepanciesInventory balances tie to the general ledger and inventory management system at all timesCOGS is accurately tracked and variances are identified and explained proactivelyFinancial records are organized, audit-ready, and accessible when neededFinance leadership can rely on the data without having to verify it themselvesWhat We OfferHybrid work flexibility with 9am to 4pm working hoursMedical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance benefits401(k) with company matchPaid holidays, floating holiday, and PTOThe opportunity to be part of a growing brand focused on helping people live healthier livesWhat To ExpectOur interview process is designed to help us get to know you beyond your resume while giving you a clear picture of the role, team, and our work environment.The process typically includes:An initial video interview with a member of our People teamA second video interview with the hiring manager focused on accounting expertise, operational judgment, and problem-solvingA potential technical assignment to assess your role-specific skillsA final onsite interview with team members and cross-functional partnersWe aim to keep the process thoughtful, communicative, and respectful of your time.Clearly Filtered is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive workplace for all employees and applicants.
