Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A clinical infusion pharmacist opportunity is available for direct hire with a leading healthcare organization in Leawood, KS. This role offers a focused schedule Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM CST, along with participation in an on-call rotation as required by pharmacy leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify prescriptions ensuring accuracy, safety, clinical appropriateness, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Provide expert counseling on specialty medications, monitor ongoing therapies, and address any clinical or patient care concerns.
- Collaborate closely with clinical staff, nursing, reimbursement, intake, and pharmacy teams for coordinated patient care.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians while supporting training, quality assurance, compliance, and daily pharmacy operations.
- Engage in audits, accreditation processes, quality improvement initiatives, and safety programs to promote continuous enhancement of pharmacy services.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active and unrestricted pharmacist license for Kansas is required.
- Strong knowledge of specialty medications and the operational requirements of specialty pharmacy.
- Preferred candidates will have three or more years of experience in Specialty Pharmacy, Infusion Pharmacy, Home Infusion, Retail, Community, Mail-Order, or Hospital Pharmacy settings.
- Familiarity with specialty therapy payer requirements, reimbursement processes, and contract compliance.
- Certification in Good Clinical Practices (GCP) is advantageous.
- Experience with CareTend or similar pharmacy management software is beneficial.
- Additional pharmacist licenses from states such as CA, TX, IL, VA, MD, WV, NV, TN, KY, MI, MA, OR, OK, and ID are a plus but not mandatory.
