Advanced Clinical Psych Social Worker (260000PS) Responsibilities Provide independent clinical practice, including individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and their parents. Conduct evaluation and assessment of children/adolescents mental health needs, including psychiatric diagnoses and treatment recommendations. Provide referrals for services as indicated and collaborative consultation to the attending psychiatrist regarding the child/adolescent functioning and progress. Diagnostic Assessment Formulates diagnoses for patients with acute or chronic mental health disorders. Diagnostically interprets data obtained from psychological test results, social histories, and interviews. Provides risk assessments for dangerousness to self and others. Individual Psychotherapy Provides crisis stabilization and crisis management. Forms a therapeutic alliance with patients from diverse backgrounds. Uses a variety of therapeutic tools and evidence-based treatment modalities. Monitors and provides feedback to treatment team psychiatrist on effects of psychotropic medication. Completes required electronic documentation in a clear, concise, and timely manner. Continuously updates professional knowledge through seminars, continuing education courses, workshops, etc. Family Psychotherapy Utilizes a theoretical framework for the focus of the family intervention. Encourages positive communication among family members. Recognizes progress and obstacles toward treatment goals and appropriately intervenes. Group Psychotherapy Screen potential group members for appropriateness of group therapy. Expresses the goals of the group. Utilizes a theoretical framework for the workings of the group. Recognizes individual's progress or lack of progress in the group setting and appropriately intervenes. Crisis/Linkage Services Provides crisis intervention skills to highly distressed children and families. Assesses safety. Is knowledgeable of community resources/supports for children and families to assist in the attainment of treatment goals.
