Role Description(s)

We are hiring for 2 separate roles. The first is a full-time Software Engineering Summer Intern position and the second is a full-time AI / ML Engineering Summer Intern position. Both roles are based in either San Francisco, CA or New York, NY, with a hybrid work arrangement allowing work-from-home flexibility. The interns will work directly with our full founding team and also gain exposure to world leading academics and researchers in the field of AI for Science.

The software engineering intern will assist in designing, developing, and deploying our AI tools for scientific research, focusing on back-end development and object-oriented programming.

The AI / ML engineering intern will help build data pipelines for ingestion of experimental data and support model training for materials discovery.

Qualifications

Degrees in either Computer Science or Chemistry / Materials Science with experience in computational approaches
Exposure to recent AI models for scientific research
Fluent in the modern LLM tech stack (i.e., OpenAI/Anthropic API calls, RAG over vector stores)
Experience shipping real world products is a plus
Wet lab experimental experience is also a plus
