Job Title: Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health

Location: Belle Mead, NJ

Department: Inpatient Behavioral Health

Shift: Day Shift

Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts

Hours: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM

Weekly Hours: 36 hours/week

Holiday/On-Call: None

Floating: Required to similar units within the facility

EMR: EPIC required

Pay: $2,340 – $2,400/week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health to provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care in an inpatient behavioral health setting.

The RN will care for adolescent, adult, and older adult patients , performing assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, ongoing monitoring, and behavioral health interventions while collaborating with the multidisciplinary treatment team.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adolescent, adult, and older adult behavioral health patients.
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patients' physical, emotional, and behavioral conditions.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic patient environment.
• Respond appropriately to behavioral health crises.
• Follow suicide prevention, seclusion/restraint, and patient safety protocols.
• Accurately document patient care and clinical information in EPIC .
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Provide education and support to patients and families.
• Participate in treatment planning and interdisciplinary meetings.
• Float to similar behavioral health units within the facility as needed.

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) – Required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Preferred

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience .
• Inpatient behavioral health experience required.
• Experience caring for adolescent, adult, and older adult populations preferred.
• Strong behavioral health assessment and crisis-management skills preferred.

Licensure & Certifications

• Current New Jersey RN License or valid Compact RN License .
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) .
